Our English Core
Having the time to be a school student is special in lots of ways. It is a time to explore and discover all about yourself, the world, the universe and more. Through reading you get to expand your knowledge and sense of experience. Through writing you can share and express yourself creatively and argumentatively. Through language skills awareness you enable yourself to be able to read, write, speak and listen to the best of your ability. Reading, writing and language skills learning is vitally important and will lead you to have mind explosion after mind explosion as ideas and interests are found. Be aware that at no other time in your life will you be able to focus as directly on building your abilities in these areas than right now, as a school student.
It is a learning expectation that all students do their best to participate in our English Core activities. You will complete reading, writing and language skills work in classes during the year. This learning can take place within whole class, small group or independent situations. It can also take place as part of a homework routine set by yourself or your parents. Reading, writing and language skills are considered 'all the time' homework options. If your parents ask you about homework you are always able to turn to our English Core for something to do.
